Heading into Friday’s Pac-12 Media Day, the conference’s future remains uncertain due to ongoing media rights negotiations. However, there will be no announcement of a new media rights deal at the event because none exists yet.

There will be some notable absences at the first Pac-12 Media Day held in Las Vegas. Deion Sanders, the head coach of the Colorado team, will not be in attendance due to a scheduled medical procedure. Instead, Charles Kelly, the defensive coordinator for Colorado, will take his place. Additionally, this will be the final Pac-12 Media Day for UCLA and USC, as they will be joining the Big Ten in 2024.

Despite the uncertainties, the Pac-12 Media Day will feature several star players and potential contenders. Names such as Oregon’s quarterback Bo Nix, Utah’s quarterback Cam Rising, Washington’s quarterback Michael Penix Jr., and Colorado’s defensive back Travis Hunter are expected to be in the spotlight. Hunter, who is ranked as the top overall prospect in the Class of 2022, is also anticipated to play as a receiver for the Buffaloes.
